From the earliest time I can remember I have loved to sing, at an early age my grandmother stood me on an old piano bench while she played and we would sing to the top of our lungs. She always told me and I remember hearing her say many nights at singings, \"If someone can't get some help from something we say or sing we should have stayed home\". As I grew older it would get more intense and she would teach me harmony, and the fundamentals that I still use today. My Grandmother and I sang in a group with my Aunt and cousin called the Singing Believers for about 4 years all together, traveling far and wide enjoying the services and the anointing. During those times I was approached by another local group called The Capstone Quartet, My Uncle had recently joined the group so the transition was seamless, their ministry continued while I moved on to other things. I traveled with the Capstone Quartet from coast to coast for 9 years and loved every minute. One night while singing at the Fireman Sing in Tuscaloosa Alabama, Eldridge Fox the owner of the Kingsmen Quartet approached me about singing full time and before you know it I was on the road. He placed me with a group called The Florida Melody Boys for a short time. I soon moved on to The Rowland's from Morristown Tennessee where I would stay for 4 years. When the time came to move on I soon found my self in Chattanooga Tennessee with Heirline and there I would stay for another 4 years. Today I am back where I started at home, helping my parents and singing in a Quartet. A lot of things have happened in the 20 years I have been in the ministry. There are those that set out to help you as you journey and face the difficulties of life but somewhere along the way they fall by the wayside, But I have found enough of them to be true and stand the test when trials and tribulations come my way to somehow by the Grace of God persevere and stand the test. I want to be that one to stand in the gap and hold up the hedge so that others can make it through. I still hear the words Grandmother said many nights and it's true today. If someone somewhere can't get some help from something we say or sing we should have stayed home.
Till I see you there, |
